Terms of Use — Slack Integration

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Slack integration ("Integration") provided by Allegory ("we," "us," or "our") within our application ("Service"). By enabling or using the Integration, you agree to be bound by these Terms, in addition to our general Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not enable or use the Integration.

1. Eligibility

You may use the Integration only if you:

• Are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction); and
• Have an active Slack workspace with appropriate permissions to install apps.

2. Access to Slack

By enabling the Integration, you authorize us to connect to your Slack workspace via Slack's official API and to access, store, and process the data necessary to provide the Integration's features. You understand that:

• We do not own your Slack content or workspace data.
• We act only as a conduit to allow your Notes App content and Slack workspace to sync or exchange data.
• You remain solely responsible for the content you share in your Slack workspace.
• Our bot will only access channels where it has been explicitly invited.

3. Use of Data

We will only use your Slack data:

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Integration;
• To respond to messages sent to our bot;
• To create threaded conversations and organize responses;
• In accordance with our Privacy Policy;
• As required by law or legal process.

Important: We will not sell your Slack data to third parties.

4. Your Responsibilities

You agree that you will:

• Use the Integration only in compliance with applicable laws and Slack's own Terms of Service;
• Not use the Integration to upload, store, or share any unlawful or harmful content;
• Maintain the security of your Slack workspace and only invite our bot to appropriate channels;
• Ensure you have the necessary permissions to install apps in your Slack workspace.

5. Bot Behavior and Limitations

Our Slack bot operates under the following constraints:

• The bot will only respond in channels where it has been invited;
• It will not access private channels or direct messages unless explicitly invited;
• All bot responses are threaded for better organization;
• The bot will not read or respond to messages in channels where it is not present.

6. Availability & Changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Integration at any time, with or without notice. We are not responsible for interruptions caused by:

• Changes to Slack's API or platform;
• Outages or downtime of Slack's services;
• Your failure to maintain a valid Slack workspace or appropriate permissions;
• Removal of our bot from channels or the workspace.

7. Third-Party Services

Slack is a third-party service not owned or controlled by us. Your use of Slack is subject toSlack Technologies, LLC's own terms and policies. We are not responsible for any acts or omissions of Slack.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Integration if:

• You violate these Terms;
• We are required to do so by law;
• We can no longer access Slack's API under their terms;
• Your Slack workspace removes our app or bot.
